Overview
Status: In Development 🚧
Hunch is our current flagship project, demonstrating the potential of combining multiple Apple sensors for health tracking. The app uses the motion sensors built into AirPods Pro and AirPods Max, along with the TrueDepth camera system in iPhones with Face ID, to create a comprehensive posture monitoring solution.
Unlike traditional posture apps that rely solely on device positioning, Hunch creates a complete picture of body alignment by fusing data from multiple sources.
Technical Approach
We're building Hunch with Swift and SwiftUI, taking advantage of:
- Core Motion Framework: Accessing AirPods accelerometer and gyroscope data
- ARKit: Leveraging Face ID sensors for facial positioning
- HealthKit Integration: Storing posture sessions and improvement metrics
- Real-time Processing: On-device machine learning for instant feedback
Key Features
- Real-time Posture Tracking
- AirPods Integration
- FaceID Sensors
- HealthKit Sync
- Haptic Feedback
- Privacy-First
Development Insights
Building Hunch has required deep integration with Apple's frameworks and careful consideration of battery life, privacy, and user experience. We're focused on making posture tracking seamless and non-intrusive—something that works in the background while users go about their day.
The app processes all sensor data on-device, ensuring user privacy while enabling sophisticated analysis. We're particularly excited about the gentle haptic notifications through AirPods that remind users to adjust their posture without being disruptive.
